What June is like
June is summer without the peak: hot, dry days, a warming sea and usually little wind. Everything is open, and boat tours run on most days. The north coast, including Sarakiniko, Papafragas and Firopotamos, is often calm. It gets busier towards the end of the month.
Swimming and beaches
The sea averages 23°C in June. Pleasant for most swimmers. Wind is usually moderate, so the dramatic north coast is often at its best.
Sheltered when the wind is from the north
Best on calm days
What to pack
Swimwear, a hat, SPF 50 and water shoes for the rocky coves.
